Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, developing, implementing, and managing an efficient and cost-effective procurement, inventory, and supplier management system. This role requires expertise in developing and executing procurement and supply chain strategies to ensure prompt material delivery, optimal stock availability, and sound warehouse practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute sourcing and procurement activities that align with key business objectives.
  • Ensure the effective execution of supply chain strategies to achieve consistent and high-quality value delivery.
  • Draw up, update, agree upon, and enforce service level agreements (SLAs) and operating manuals with third-party service providers.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor an efficient inventory management system across all OGTL stores.
  • Ensure the availability of the right quality and quantity of stock items at competitive market prices and at the appropriate time.
  • Maintain cost-effective storage that enables efficient working capital management and minimizes waste.
  • Implement best practices in supply chain and supplier management to support commercial and operational objectives.

Qualifications:

  • A graduate degree or equivalent in social, pure, applied, or management sciences.
  • Five (5) plus years of experience leading the supply chain team of a cereal milling manufacturing business.
  • Working knowledge of procurement and warehousing management.
  • Strong supplier relationship management skills.
  • Membership in professional organizations such as the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP), the Institute of Logistics Management (ILM), and the African Centre for Supply Chain (ACSC) is preferred.
